This plastic bottle contains 50 capsules, so under a dollar a day.At about $20 total, these are a nice buy and I'm optimistic about using them. They do seem to curb my food noise and sweets cravings!

The bottle of berberine has foil seal on the outside but lacks the inner protective seal, which is a bit concerning. It does not contain a cotton filler. This suplement is distributed by a USA company, though the country of origin is not listed. The information is in English and Spanish. These pills are a little bit big about 1 inch . I haven't been taking it long enough to notice any health benefits.

I always try to answer the question to start ... would I order this again. My honest reply would probably be no. As others have mentioned ... there is no support for what third party organization laboratory tests this supplement, which gives me pause about re-ordering this vs. a known brand name. 'Third party testing' has been a bit of a catch all in the vitamin/supplement industry ... as many say this without listing an actual organization that does the testing. Your next door neighbor could be the one who is verifying a product using no criteria for all you'd know. This was made in the USA and vegetarian, according to the label, which is in English and Spanish.Berberine is made from Berberis Aristata plants, typically grown in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. It has been used for a century in Ayurveda for its properties. I have researched supplements for almost two decades and have just noticed Berberine making its way into the supplement market due to anecdotal studies which mention its ability to strengthen heartbeat, lower cholesterol and reduce blood pressure.One downside to Berberine is the smell and bitter taste. The capsules prevent any of the bitter taste, unless they dissolve in your mouth. However, the smell is pretty potent when you open the bottle. Two pills is the dosage ... and 50 pills capsules come in the bottle, so you get a little under a month's worth of servings in this bottle. The capsules are bright yellow in color, as Berberis Root can also be used to make yellow dye.I have taken this supplement for 2 weeks and haven't noticed any differences. Blood pressure is still the same and I haven't noticed any other effects. This is usually the case with supplements but it would be interesting to check blood sugar levels and cholesterol after taking this for a month, or so. It is important not to take this if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and obviously, it is more for adults.Overall, I am a bit put off by the lack of verified third party testing. Berberine has a long Ayurvedic history and is vegetarian and pretty natural. I hope my pictures and honest review, after using the product for several weeks, was helpful to your shopping.

Good quality berberine supplement. Assists with suppressing my appetite just as it says. Easy to swallow capsules.

This berberine supplement is okay, but after using it, I prefer the drops from the other brand I use. The capsules are easy to take even though they are on the large size, and I did not experience an upset stomach or anything like that. This product is a little expensive compared to other similar products but still within reason. Fifty capsules is not even a month's supply, so that is another negative. That being said, these did work and gave me an energy boost, so they are effective. Really not a bad product, especially if you can catch them on sale. Again though, I prefer the drops.

Works well for what it is, but it's much pricier and doesn't include as much as I'd like. Other than that, pretty standard overall.

With a new supplement, I always take it for a while to see how I feel in a longer-term using the product, and then compare to the ingredients and pricing and all of that.Basically, with this version of Berberine, despite it being listed as higher-quality (by virtue of being a better extract, from what they claim), this "Advanced" Berberine worked exactly the same as my normal cheapy brand of Berberine Root and my other normal cheapy brand of Berberine Bark (both of which are the same dose and the same plant). This does technically contain a very active form, but so do the others, and this costs more.While it worked, and worked very well, and made me feel just as good as I feel on most effective Berberine-brands, this costs more than my usual brand for the same dosage and the same effect, so I'm giving this four-stars for being equal quality (higher quality and effective) while being more expensive than it should be for this dosage and this number of pills.I didn't feel ill, I didn't have any side-effects, and I found nothing wrong with this supplement, which makes it a great option, until I compare the price-per-dose to other brands. When I compare the price-per-dose to my normal brands and even to a few slightly more expensive brands, this is too expensive. For the blood-sugar control this gives, which is the same as I get from the same dose of another brand, this should be the same price, but it's more expensive. There is no stomach-upset or bad-taste or anything to make this a lesser option than any other. It's truly the same as what I usually buy (despite having a different label). But it costs more.Also, as a note for this and all other berberine supplements mentioning appetite-suppression in their listings, you should know that berberine doesn't suppress appetite. It lessens lingering-insulin which can cut down on sugar-cravings due to lingering/unused-insulin from insulin-resistance, but it doesn't cut overall appetite in a person craving food. That's a myth being circulated by a lot of companies right now. The sad truth is that, if you take berberine, you're more likely to crave and egg or some salmon or some soup than something sugary, because you won't have excess insulin hanging around driving sugar-cravings, but the appetite itself is still there, because appetite-triggering isn't the same as sugar-craving due to excess-insulin. I wish companies would stop claiming this supplement suppresses appetite and give people more reasonable expectations of what it does. It truly does help the body use up excess insulin by increasing insulin-sensitivity. But it truly does not remove your appetite.

I mainly take it for metabolism and immune system. It seems to help keep things balanced. Bonus that it's vegetarian and comes in a smaller bottle, so it's easy to carry when traveling. No weird aftertaste or side effects so far.
